Neon trees have always produced fun and joyful songs throughout their career. This the third studio album proves to be no different. Although this album is filled with many dancey songs it relates heavily to teenage life, young relationships and emotions feature heavily in this album. Continue reading

Paolo Nutini: Caustic Love

paolo-nutini-caustic-love-album-art

Paolo is back! Caustic love is Paolo’s third album and so far his albums have only got better, will this new album deliver the same funky sounds from previous years? Firstly the instrumental range on this album is brilliant with variations between tracks filled with catchy trumpets, and others flowing with guitar rifts to then follow onto a track with classic piano..

The Neighbourhood: I love you

the-neighbourhood-i-love-you-album-stream

This album has been out since April 23rd 2013, their music has only been recognised recently though. ‘Sweater Weather’ was the debut track that was released from this album, I heard this song everywhere and loved it! with this I had to listen to the rest of the album to see if it’s as catchy throughout. This band seem to remind me of ‘The XX’ with the slow sounds and rhythm..

Kid Cudi: satellite flight the journey to mother moon

kid-cudi-satellite-flight

Kid cudi has never really stood out to me, with pursuit of happiness being my personal favourite song of his. I thought I would give his latest album a listen too. With Kid cudi featuring heavily on various others albums, I wanted to see what he could produce on his own this year. I did not expect great things for this album but have heard many good things about this album so..

The_1975_debut_album_cover

After several EP’s and many singles later, The 1975 finally released a debut album. With over 200 plays on each track in my Itunes library you could say this album is slightly catchy. I was sceptical the first time I listened to this album, this was because the catchiness and perfect rhythms of ‘chocolate’ would be hard to keep up throughout a full LP. Matty Healy and co pull off a well written and relatable lyrics, this is mixed with great variety in backing tracks and vocals. 2013 was a very successful year for this band…

Metronomy: Love letters

Metronomy-Love-Letters-608x608

After not releasing a single for quite a while since their album ‘The English Riviera’ Metronomy have returned. If you are fed up of hearing the same sounding strong guitar riffs and catchy beats of various indie bands, then Metronomy are a band you want to be listening to. The unique sound of this band makes for an enjoyable listen if you personally fancy a change, English Riviera was great for this and I hope for much of the same with this album…

American Authors: Oh, what a life

220px-American_Authors_-_Oh_What_a_Life

If you have ever played Fifa 2014 then you will be unknowingly familiar with this band. American Authors are an indie rock band who are based in the bright lights of New York city. The band is fairly new to scene popularity wise, I mean the only reason I stumbled across this band was through googling the lyrics to ‘Best day of my life’. I wanted to find out who sang this unbelievably catchy song, Imagine Dragons was my first guess but I was wrong. Im glad I found this band, if you’re ever in a rubbish mood or feel bad, this is a great mood changer.. Continue reading
